1934 schedule of football games for Duke, North Carolina State, Roanoke, Maryland, North Carolina, Richmond, South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Virginia Military Institute, William & Mary, and Washington & Lee on a small card advertising a tutoring service. Also a football pool card for games played on November 17, 1934. 1936 program for the Thanksgiving Day football game against North Carolina. Hand drawn (mimeographed) chart of formations and plays used by North Carolina in a game aginst Duke, 1937? together with two pages of defense notes on North Carolina. 1938 list of U.Va. Football Personnel and a 1938 Oct 7 newspaper article titled "Virginia Has Squad in Shape." The 1941 Nov 8 program of U.Va. Athletic News for the Washington and Lee game contains photographs of football officials, team captain Bill Dudley and other players including William G. Suhling, James A. Bear, Francis N. Crenshaw, and George Green Shackelford, as well as the railroad bridge over University Avenue painted with the season's football scores. 1949 packet on U.Va. Football Ticket information. 1949 Football schedule. 1950 Jun 14 letter to U.Va. employees from the Personnel Office specifies the (different) price of reserving a football ticket for white and "Negro" employees. Copy of chapter 6 "Mayhem and robbery in the South" from the book "Road to Number one: a personal chronicle of Penn State football" by Ridge Riley, describing a rough game against the University of Virginia in 1893.
